Shots, Stats, and Staying on Track: Navigating Vaccination Compliance through Data-Driven Surveillance

Educational Session

November 6 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST

By now most of us are deep into our seasonal influenza vaccination programs. This does not diminish the need to remain current with additional requirements! Vaccination compliance in nursing facilities, as outlined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), goes beyond protecting residents and staff from the severity of specific diseases—it also plays a crucial role in managing and preventing the spread of infections.

It is essential for nursing facilities to have a systemic process for offering, educating, documenting, and administering required vaccines, and to ensure no residents or staff members are missed. Surveillance through technology plays a significant role in each component of a successful Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program–including meeting the requirements of F883, F887–and can also have a profound impact on Quality Measures and Quality Reporting Programs.

In this detailed session, we will review the latest clinical and regulatory information regarding vaccinations for influenza, Pneumococcal disease, RSV, COVID – 19, and Shingles. Additionally, we will explore the most current CDC guidelines related to seasonal vaccinations, antiviral usage, and outbreak management. Furthermore, we will share strategies and best practices on implementing data-driven insights into the IPC surveillance program to help care teams facilitate regulatory compliance and optimize vaccine tracking and administration.
