What is Interventional Analytics?

Interventional Analytics [ in-ter-ven-shuhn-el ] [ana-lidiks]

  1. Pertaining to the act of intervening using data analytics
  2. Interfering or interceding with the intent of modifying the outcome based on live data

Predictive Analytics vs. Interventional Analytics

Interventional Analytics goes beyond predictive analytics. Using cloud-based software, Interventional Analytics sifts through vast amounts of live structured and unstructured data within the EHR and establishes a 72-hour baseline upon patient arrival, sending live alerts – inclusive of suggested interventions – to care teams when a subtle change in condition occurs.

Most importantly, Interventional Analytics can easily identify high-risk patients and clinically prioritize their needs, so clinicians can act fast to prevent adverse events from occurring. Intervening as a change in condition occurs improves care outcomes better than attempting to predict what might happen based upon old, historic data. We call this Interventional Analytics.

EHR’s may capture the data, but they lack the sophistication needed to properly analyze and comprehensively present the data in a time-efficient manner.

Real Time’s industry-leading Interventional Analytics solution is compatible with approximately 95% of all EHRs used by post-acute providers. The cloud-based solution is designed to sync with every data point within the EHR, including nursing and progress notes. Using comprehensive algorithms, the Real Time solution identifies subtle changes in condition as they occur and highlights patients by need of clinical prioritization. These clinical alerts are identified live, offering suggested interventions based on AMDA and INTERACT 4.0 standards of care, and are presented to clinical teams, enabling them to provide early interventions to improve care.

The Benefits

Analyzing live data as it is entered into the EHR and comparing it to our 72-hour baselineInterventional Analytics has proven to

  • Reduce Readmissions by 52% (avg.)
  • Increase Financial Reimbursement
  • Strengthen Quality Measures
  • Manage Length of Stay
  • Improve Clinical Staff Efficiencies
  • Enhance Care Coordination Efforts
  • Improve Partner Hospital Referrals

“It’s really about good resident care. Interventional Analytics allows us to receive live alerts so we can get to the resident quicker and intervene before the resident requires hospitalization.”

— Susan Leggett, Director of Clinical Services of Continuum Healthcare
