Data Analytics: The Unexpected Hero of the Staffing Crisis

Educational Session

July 26, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

With the current staffing crisis, ongoing pandemic concerns, and heightened regulatory oversight, nursing facilities are being asked to do more with less. With a shortage of available resources, what if your data could work harder for you — allowing you to ease administrative burdens, while improving care outcomes?

During this presentation, we’ll highlight how accessing live data analytics can help prioritize care management and workload balance – allowing care teams to spend more time at the bedside instead of a desk. We will discuss techniques to standardize care delivery and documentation that require no additional work or data entry from nursing and agency staff. First-hand insights and best practices will be shared on the role that live clinical analysis can have on intervening early in care to reduce negative outcomes and break the cycle of readmissions. The session will also provide practical strategies to maintain survey preparedness, increase staff engagement, and improve Star ratings – all which help increase partner referrals.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore how interventional analytics can support adjusting for acuity while supporting patient-centric care
  • Establish and prioritize data-driven standardized care pathways and documentation to reduce regulatory and administrative burdens
  • Identify process improvement activities to maintain survey preparedness, strengthen infection control and become an optimal partner for referrals

Speaker

  • Kathy Derleth, RN, BSN, Senior Clinical Account Manager, Real Time Medical Systems

This session is presented by the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO).
