Preparing for Increased Oversight of Infection Prevention & Control Programs Beyond COVID-19

More than six months after the onset of COVID-19, rates are still spiking in most parts of the country, flu season has begun, and CMS is on track to resume onsite surveys. It is imperative that SNFs refocus their attention on compliancy when it comes to regulations issued by CMS in late 2019 – and continue their work developing strong Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) programs. To fully prepare for increased oversight, facilities need to ensure they are tracking, trending, and complying with the entire IPC plan – inclusive of Antibiotic Stewardship surveillance.
