El Harris, Chief Operating Officer
Nationally regarded as a leader and innovator in geriatric healthcare, El has worked relentlessly to affect a paradigm shift in oral healthcare for nursing home residents. His voice has been heard everywhere from Washington D.C. and CMS to AMDA and AHCA.
Harris is currently the Executive Vice President of Business Development at Five Star Physicians where he is busy championing the clinical care initiatives and professionals that comprise the Five Star network of physicians and nurse practitioners.
Harris continues to serve as a Member of the Board of PrevMED Dental Case Management, a company based just outside of Annapolis, Maryland and founded in 2007, and pioneered the Dental Case Management service model. PrevMED manages on-site oral health care and payment resources for residents of skilled nursing facilities in seven states across the country. El describes PrevMED as “a dental and financial solution to a medical problem.”
In addition, he has led the charge to educate legislators and the long term care community about the healthcare risks and quality of life issues linked with oral disease. El is a national advocate for proper oral health as a means to reduce hospitalizations and, ultimately, provide cost savings for this underserved population.
Christopher L. Miller, Chief Technology Officer
Chris is a project management executive having led several organizations to develop, bring to market, and sell technology products, with clients ranging from startups to Major League baseball franchises. He has authored several books and published technical articles on various topics, and was a finalist for Best Product Development or Engineering Executive in the 2003 Stevie Awards. A regular healthcare technology conference speaker, he also returns to Carnegie Mellon University to guest lecture.
He holds a Masters in IT management (MSIT) from Carnegie Mellon, and is a graduate of the CMU CIO Institute. At Real Time, Chris brings his 15 years of SNF/ALF industry experience to enable us to deliver robust and advanced analytics that stay ahead of the curve.
Joan Neuscheler, Chief Executive Officer
Joan Neuscheler has more than 25 years of experience in operations management, financial management, private equity investment, fund raising and strategic guidance.
Ms. Neuscheler is CEO of Real Time Medical Systems, LLC, CFO of Five Star Physician Services, LLC, and Founder and Partner of Aura Equity Partners, LLC (a consulting and advisory services company).
Prior to forming Aura Equity, Ms. Neuscheler spent 19 years as a General Partner of multiple healthcare venture capital funds with particular focus on healthcare IT/services, biotechnology, medical devices and specialty pharmaceuticals. Ms. Neuscheler also served as President and CFO of the management company.
Ms. Neuscheler has extensive Board experience, including executive, compensation, governance and audit committees. With particular skills in organizational development and financial management, Ms. Neuscheler has guided companies through both transitional stages and in periods of rapid growth.
Ms. Neuscheler earned a BBA and an MBA from Pace University. Ms. Neuscheler’s board experience includes Adams Respiratory Therapeutics, Inc; Quadramed, Inc; Adiana, Inc; Cardium Health Services Corp, Interpharm Holdings, Inc., IntelliClaim, Inc; Essential Group, Inc. Ms. Neuscheler currently serves as a Director of Five Star Physician Services, LLC, Real Time Medical Systems, LLC, Provider Partners Health Plan and Trophikos, Inc.
Jim Shearon, RN, BSN, MHSA, VP Clinical Solutions
Jim is a seasoned expert in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, quality improvement, HIT, and guideline-based care in the long-term care industry. At AccuNurse by Honeywell, Jim perfected process improvement models and helped a wide variety of clients drive new levels of quality and cost savings through voice-directed documentation. As a case mix specialist at HCR ManorCare, Jim audited Medicare and Medicaid documentation and assisted nursing facilities in completing MDS 2.0 documentation. As an RNAC, Jim implemented, educated, coached, validated, and monitored the RAI Process. He was also responsible for MDS, management of Medicare, PPS, and Medicaid to ensure all documentation met federal, state, and certification guidelines.
Jim received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, RN certification from West Penn Hospital School of Nursing, master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Saint Francis-Joliet Illinois, and studied pre-medicine at California University of Pennsylvania.
